Computers are strange sometimes. It might run like a pro for weeks and weeks and then all of a sudden start to seize up while performing the simplest of operations. You quickly start to find it running half speed while you’re loading web pages, listening to music, or watching videos. Opening your email becomes a chore and you start frequently using your phone instead of your computer, if only because it runs faster and smoother.

But, what can you do about it? What can honestly be changed that will make your computer truly run faster? You’d be surprised to learn that there are many things you can do to make your PC run faster with minimal work on your part. Here are three of the easiest that you can do as you read this:

Faster Boot Up Times

The easiest way to make your boot times better is to simply reduce the number of things that need to boot up. This can easily be done by opening up MSCONFIG, a utility that is available from the RUN menu of any version of Windows. When you go into the utility, you can quickly and easily reduce the number of programs that will boot when you turn your computer on. Just make sure that you don’t turn off anything that you will need to run properly – so don’t turn off any Microsoft services.

Faster Webpage Loading Speeds

Web browsers get just as bogged down as your operating system if you don’t take the time to clean them up and see to their proper speed. So, what can you do to fix the problem? The easiest way to do it is to simple remove all of the cookies and other assorted goods that clog up your browser to speed up pc.

Additionally, try getting a browser that is proven to be fast. The newest version of Firefox 3.0 is incredibly fast, but you can find even faster browsers in Google Chrome or Opera if you don’t need as many functions in your web browsing. Basically, cut back on bells and whistles and enjoy the speed benefit you gain.

Open Documents Faster

Your documents are going to be a problem if you are used to open lots of them at once and trying to get them to work quickly. Sometimes it can take up to a full minute to get an old Word file or a PDF to open properly. So, what can you do to make it work more effectively? One of the easiest methods to boost the speed here is to go with a simpler program for loading this software. Get the newest version of Acrobat Reader, which is up to 250% faster than the older versions and consider getting a simpler word processor like Open Office, which can open incredibly fast from a quick start menu.

In the end, the easiest way to make your computer faster on the surface is to cut back on the all the fancy stuff you want it to do. When that fails, you can always turn to a series of more involved, more detailed methods for boosting PC speed.

I was surfing the Internet the other day and ran across a glowing review of a new eBook offering over at PCSecrets.com. The review was so good, I started to doubt the reviewer was legit, but the premise of the guide was too good to ignore.

The new book, written by Penn Chan, someone we’ve all heard from once or twice in the PC repair forums about , increase computer speed and claimed it could make any PC run faster and smoother within a few hours, just by doing some simple maintenance on the PC. It was a bold claim and one that PC owners everywhere will perk up at hearing.

But, as a long time PC owner, I had to put it to the test. I’ve seen a lot of so called “tricks” that do little more than turn off all your features and call it “faster”. So, before I would call it a hoax or a full blown solution, I figured I’d give this new guide a test run and report back with my thoughts about pc optimization and how to fix a slow computer.

The Test Run

I tested the guide over the course of a week on an old PC I have in my basement – one that’s rarely used anymore and hasn’t had any maintenance done in two or three years at best. I did some basic benchmarks to confirm that the computer was in fact awful and ran slower than when I bought it.

The PC which was built for me in 2004, was top of the line at the time. It should run anything that came out within about two years of them with ease, but I can’t even get World of Warcraft to boot up properly any more, so you can imagine it’s not exactly cruising along.

I did the maintenance outlined by Penn every day for the entire week, and made sure to use the PC as much as possible, just doing some basic web browsing, Facebooking and YouTube – the usual nonsense I do when I’m half asleep.

The Results

Then, on day 8, I did a new set of benchmarks. I was blown away. Everything – and I mean everything – had improved at least 100% just optimize computer . Some things were performing 3 or 4 times better than they had before. Not only did World of Warcraft run now, it ran at a blistering 60 frames per second.

It boot up in about 15 seconds, rather than the two minutes it used to take. It opened web pages instantly, it shut down in seconds. This was the computer I had bought in 2004. I was blown away.

The lesson? Don’t judge a guide based on it seeming too good to be true. PC Secrets is the real deal. I’ll be using it on all my PCs from now.

Welcome to Puters.net;

One of my computers has been running very slow lately, so I started looking for ways to speed it up and came across this product – PC secrets.

The odds are that you have a computer running less than spectacularly right now. The computer game is such that you’re never really getting 100% from your machine, especially if you don’t have the necessary protective software in place – the firewalls, anti-virus, and anti-malware software that every PC should have in place.

So, when you hear about a book like PC Secrets that claims it can help your computer to run faster, you wonder if it’s really possible to speed up a slow computer.

I know I did. Which is why I picked up the much talked about new eBook and decided to give it a spin and see if those outrageous claims could possibly be true.

What Happened?

Turns out, they were true, and lots more. In fact, despite all my misgivings, Penn Chan, the author, might actually be a bit modest in his assessment of how well this guide works. I bought the guide last week, and today I’ve run through the regular maintenance it outlines at least three times now.

It feels like I’m using a brand new computer. This thing is lightning fast now, at least as fast as it’s processor and memory are capable of letting it run. Which, to be honest, I had completely forgotten about for a long time before pc clean up.

When I bought this computer it was top of the line and it was only 2 years ago. But, you know how computers can go down hill pretty quickly in a short time so I just assumed that the technology had outgrown me. I was actually getting ready to buy a new machine. That was until I downloaded and tried out PC Secrets and read about how to fix a slow computer.

Not long ago, if one of computers was running slow or messing up on me, I would just shut it down and go to one of my other puters. I have 3 desktops and one laptop. Still making a payment on one but after getting this ebook, I have all my desktops running really great. The laptop is new and don’t use it much.

If your like me, I can’t afford a new computer everytime one goes haywire, so getting some information from this book was right on what I needed! Saved alot of money also.

Now, I don’t see why I’d need to buy a new computer for at least another two years. This thing runs so smoothly, so fast now, that I can’t honestly believe it’s the same machine. From loading web pages instantly to letting me run games like Crysis at 60 FPS with ease (something I never managed to do before – my previous high was 21…blech), this guide did everything it promised and then some.

The bottom line is this. PC Secrets is an amazing product. It works even better than advertised and you can bet that you’re getting 10 times your money’s worth at least, especially if you consider how much less you’ll need to replace your old machine.
